Abstract
Railway stations serve as gathering points for numerous individuals, thereby posing a high risk for disease transmission. Payakabung Station, being the sole station in Ogan Ilir Regency, facilitates significant human mobility. Consequently, sanitation efforts are essential, as sanitation facilities directly impact user satisfaction. The aim of this study was to analyze the quality of sanitation facilities and user satisfaction at Payakabung Station. This study employed a qualitative approach, with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. This research involved 5 key informants and 5 Payakabung Station users as informants. Subsequently, validity testing was conducted using source, method, and data triangulation. The results revealed that the sanitation facilities at Payakabung Station met the standards for healthy quality in environmental variables, educational facilities, health facilities, clean water, and waste disposal. However, some assessment components, including wastewater drainage, health facilities, and the provision of faucets in the clean water variable, still required attention. User satisfaction with sanitation facilities based on 6 aspects of the SPM showed satisfaction with 4 aspects, while the aspects of convenience and equity did not show maximum performance. Nevertheless, users expressed satisfaction with the quality of the sanitation facilities at Payakabung Station. In conclusion, the healthy quality of sanitation facilities aligned with user satisfaction. However, the station management still needs to make improvements in the variables of health facilities, public toilets, and wastewater drainage, as well as the provision of an equity aspect in the unmet Service Minimum Standards (SMS).
