Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the application of e-modules based on project-based learning with local content of South Sumatra on biodiversity material on critical thinking skills of students in class X SMA Negeri 16 Palembang. The research method used in this research is the experimental method. The type of research used is Quasi Experimental research with the research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with the selected samples, namely X.5 as the experimental class and X.3 as the control class. The research instruments used were test questions (pretest & posttest) critical thinking skills. The research data were analyzed with the Independent Sample T-Test test on the Statistical Program for Social Science 26 (SPSS version 26) program and the calculation of N-Gain. The results of the Independent Sample T-Test test analysis showed the Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05. This result shows that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is a significant effect of the application of e-modules on critical thinking skills. The N-Gain calculation of critical thinking skills of the experimental class is 0.57 and the control class is 0.30, both of which are in the medium category. These results indicate that the increase in critical thinking skills based on test results in the experimental class is more optimal than the control class. Based on this, it is concluded that there is an effect of the application of e-modules based on project-based learning with local content of South Sumatra on biodiversity material on critical thinking skills of students in class X SMA Negeri 16 Palembang.
