Abstract

This research aims to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions based on numeracy literacy in biological sciences on environmental change materials that are valid, reliable, and have good question item characteristics, The research method used is the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model with a focus on the analysis, design, and development stages. The results of the study obtained 13 questions that were developed were declared valid, with 11 questions in the very high validity category and 2 questions in the high validity category. The reliability value obtained was 0.81, indicating high consistency. The difficulty level of the questions showed that 11 questions were in the medium category while the easy and difficult categories had 1 question each. The differentiation of the questions consisted of 1 item of the poor category questions, 3 items of the sufficient category questions, 6 items of the good category questions, and 3 items of the very good category questions. The deceiver functions effectively by 85%. The prototype of the questions developed includes 6 critical thinking questions, 2 creative thinking questions, 3 problem-solving questions, and 2 decision-making questions.
