Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-confidence of group B children at Al Anshor Islamic Kindergarten, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through closed questionnaires using a Likert scale to measure children's emotional intelligence and self-confidence. The results showed that the majority of children had a level of emotional intelligence in the moderate category (63.2%) and their level of self-confidence was also in the moderate category (73.7%). The prerequisite tests included normality and linearity tests, which showed that the data were normally distributed and the relationship between the two variables was linear. The results of the hypothesis test with Pearson product moment correlation showed a correlation value of 0.904 with a significance of <0.001, which means that there is a very strong positive relationship between emotional intelligence and children's self-confidence. In addition, the value of 〖 r〗_hitung (0.904) is greater than 〖 r〗_tabel (0.468) at a significance level of 5%, so the research hypothesis is accepted. This finding indicates that the higher a child's emotional intelligence, the higher their self-confidence. Keywords: Emotional intelligence, self-confidence, early childhood
