Abstract

The development of learning media based on the Animiz application on the advertising text material for class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara was carried out to produce a product for the development of a learning media. This study aims to (1) Produce the needs of teachers and students for the development of learning media based on the Animiz application on the advertising text material for class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara; (2) Produce a design for learning media based on the Animiz application on the advertising text material for class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara; (3) Produce the validity of learning media based on the Animiz application on the advertising text material for class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. The type of research conducted is research with a research and development method using the Allesi & Trollip development model. Data were collected through quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires which showed that the average result of the analysis of student needs was 85.8% and the average result of the analysis of teacher needs was 89.4%, which indicates that the learning media based on the Animiz application on advertising text material is very much needed by students and teachers. Qualitative data were obtained through interview techniques with Indonesian language teachers. Furthermore, the design stage was carried out by making prototypes, flowcharts, and storyboards. At the development stage, the product display was produced in the form of learning media on advertising text material which went through validation tests by experts. Validation was carried out by obtaining product assessments on media, material, and language aspects. The media aspect obtained a value of 31 (86.1%). The material aspect obtained a value of 33 (95%). The language aspect obtained a value of 37 (92.5%). Based on the validation test of each aspect, the average result of the validation test was 91.2% which indicates that the learning media based on the Animiz application on advertising text material is very feasible to use.
