Abstract

Attacks by plant pests in the form of pests and diseases can cause physiological disorders and physical damage to plants. Efforts that are often made by farmers are by using synthetic pesticides, malapari (Pongamia pinnata L.) shows the presence of secondary metabolite compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the results of malapari plant parts, secondary metabolite compounds and the highest toxicity seen from the LC50 value against shrimp larvae (Artemia salina L.). The study was conducted from August to December 2024. Sampling was carried out in Dompu Regency, NTB Province. The study was conducted at the Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, South Sumatra. The research methods used were sample preparation, extraction, TLC method, GC-MS method analysis, hatching of larval eggs, making test solutions, and toxicity tests. The highest yield percentage was found in malapari seeds 17.615% extract weight 35.23 grams followed by leaves 13.175% extract weight 26.35 grams and the lowest bark 8.515% extract weight 17.03 grams. Secondary metabolite compounds found in the TLC method include alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, tannins, terpenoids. In GC-MS, compounds that have the potential as biopesticide include. The LC50 value of malapari leaf methanol extract was 970.158 µg/mL followed by bark methanol extract 186.389 µg/mL, and seed methanol extract 100.781 µg/mL. LC50 values below 1000 µg/mL have the potential to be bioinsecticides, including coumarin, linolenic acid, ozonide fatty acids, alkaloids, and triterpenoids.
