Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive learning media based on educational games Educaplay that focus on news text material for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. This study uses a development method based on the Alessi & Trollip model. Data was collected through interviews and the distribution of questionnaires to students and teachers. The developed learning media includes various features of Educaplay, such as material presented with slideshows, crosswords, frog jumping quiz games, answering questions with interesting image media to increase students' interest in learning. The validation process was carried out by experts in the fields of media, content, and language. The validation results show that this media is highly feasible to use, with a "very good" category as it effectively supports the learning process. The use of interactive game media Educaplay as a learning medium can improve students understanding while creating a more enjoyable learning process in learning news texts.
