Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of industrial concentration on profits in the coconut cooking oil industry in Indonesia for the period 1997-2023. The approach used in this study is quantitative, with time series data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis technique of this study uses the calculation of the concentration ratio (CR4), Profit is measured by Price-cost margin, and simple linear regression. The results of the study show that the coconut cooking oil industry in Indonesia has a high level of concentration, with an average value of 71.57 percent. Based on Joe S. Bain’s theory, this industry is classified as a second-level oligopoly market. The level of profit in the coconut cooking oil industry tends to decrease, with an average of 37.50 percent. Based on simple linear regression, it states that industrial concentration has a positive and significant effect on profits in the coconut cooking oil industry in Indonesia.
