Abstract
Food poisoning is very frequently experienced by elementary school children. Insufficient knowledge of first aid measures for food poisoning among teachers and staff can cause students to experience complications of food poisoning. To minimize the occurrence of food poisoning complications, educational interventions are needed to increase teachers’ and staff’s the knowledge of first aid for food poisoning. This study aims to determine the effect of health education with game-based simulation through the “ELIDOING” monopoly media on the knowledge of teachers and staff about first aid for food poisoning. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. A sample size of 32 respondents was chosen using total sampling technique. A statistical tests using Paired t-test showed that mean pre-test score was 13.25 (SD=2.625) and mean post-test was 22.59 (SD=1.183) with an increase of 9.34 and a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant effect of “ELIDOING” media on teachers’s and staff’s knowledge of first air for food poisoning. Media innovation in providing education in the form of interactive “ELIDOING” monopoly game can be used to increase knowledge about food poisoning first aid.
