Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the application of group counseling services to the students who had low learning motivation at SMAN 2 North Indralaya. This research was applied to that first year student as a research subject. The data was collected using observation guidelines. The observation results indicate that the group counseling services is going well, because both group leader and group members apply group counseling phases from formation, shifting, and concluding phase. This is supported by data showing that the leader of the group categorised very well, while members of the group get good and very good one in the implementation of group counseling. However, in the application of group counseling, there were still weaknesses that occured in the processing phase that the dynamics were not fully formed, because the leader of the group had not been able to build an enthusiastic member of the group to participate actively.
