Abstract

The objective of this research are to identify factors which influence farmers adopting and doesn’t adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260, analyze how farmers adoption level and to analyze how factors which influence farmers adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260 in Langkan village Banyuasin III sub District Banyuasin District. The data collecting was did on June until july 2006. The research method which was used was case study method with research factors which influence farmers adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260 in Langkan village. Sample taking method which used disproportionate stratified random sampling. Sample farmers consisted of 2 layers, the first layer were farmers who adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260 consisted of 15 people or 18,07 % from population and the second layer were farmers who didn’t adopt excellent rubber of clone PB 260 consisted of 15 people or 8,57 % from population. Data which was showed by tabulation and was explained by descriptive and was also helped by chi-quadrate. The result of research showed that inside factors (age, education level, farming experience) and outside factors (activity extension agent, excellent rubber of clone PB 260 advantages) were factors which was tendency to influence farmers adopting and doesn’t adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260. Farmers adoption level which adopting excellent rubber of clone PB 260 belong to high criteria with average score 2,54 it means farmers apply cultivation engineering of rubber appropriate with PPL’s suggestion. Based on result calculation with used chi-quadrate test that score of contingency cueficient is 0,91 it means excellent rubber of clone PB 260 advantages have a positive influence to farmers adoption level. If farmers knowledge become higher about excellent rubber of clone PB 260 advantages, so the farmers adoption level become higher too.
