Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the level of digital media literacy in Communication students of the Faculty of Social and Political Science of Sriwijaya University campus Indralaya in using LINE Today. The theory used is Individual Competence Framework from European Commission research institutes (2009). The method applied in this study is quantitative methods with descriptive analysis techniques. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 83 respondents from Communication students FISIP Unsri campus Indralaya class of 2015 to 2018 who used LINE Today.The results of this study indicate that the level of digital media literacy in Communication students is in the medium (medium) level, which can be seen from the acquisition scores by each dimension of the theory, namely Technical Skill with the acquisition of the average score (317) in the advanced category (high), Critical Understanding with the average score (286) in the medium category, and Communicative Abilities with the average score (217) in the medium category. So that the results of the total average of the level digital media literacy in Communication students using LINE Today based on the Individual Competence Framework is (273) in the medium category.
