Abstract

The purposes of this research were: (1) anaylized the factors that affect the production of spinach and kale in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, (2) Described the using of production factors on spinach and kale farm in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, (3) measured the total income of farm families on fulfillment the Standard of living needs of farmer families in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Indralaya Ogan Ilir Regency. This research had been conducted on June 2013 to August 2013 in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research used survey and sampling method of simple random sampling. The population of this research was 88 KK farmers, and the sample was 30 farmers were taken by using simple random sampling, method who did spinach and kale farmers. The data collected in this research used primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through direct observation and interviews with farmers using a questionnaire. Secondary data obatamed from Dinas Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura South Sumatera, Badan Pusat Statistik South Sumatera, Kantor Kepala Desa Pulau Semambu North Indralaya Subdistict, Ogan Ilir Regency, other data sources that support this research, and provinsions on Regulation of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia No. 13/2012 about Components and Implementation Phases Achievement Living Needs. The results of this research showed that: (1) The significance factors that affect the spinach production are land area, seeds, manure and labor. While the significance factors that affect the kale production are land area, seeds, manure, Chemical fertilizers, and pesticides, (2) Spinach and kale farmers in Pulau Semambu Village are not able to use the factors of production fertilizers and pesticides according to recommended dosage, and (3) The total income of farm families is Rp 2.180.429,62 per month can not meet achieve the standards of living needs (KHL) of families farmers.
