Abstract

The objectives of this research are : 1) to identify the farming system done by swamp lowland rice farmers in Kotadaro II village Sub-District of Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir regency, 2) analyze revenue eamed from farming which was done in Kotadaro II village Sub-District of Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir regency, 3) determine the optimal system farming at swamp lowland area in Kotadaro II village Sub- District of Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir regency. The research were conducted in Kotadaro II village Sub-District of Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir regency on June until August 2013. The research method is done by survey method. The data used in this research were primer and secondary data. The sampling method used in this research was a proportioned stratified random sampling method. The analysis method used was linear programming model which is processed by ABQM program. The result showed valley swamp farming pattem in Kotadaro II village Sub- District of Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir regency consist of three farming pattems, including paddy-horticulture diversified farming pattem in shallow valley; paddy planting or monoculture farming pattem in middle valley; and paddy-livestock farming pattem in deep valley. The income generated from farming system of the farmers in kotadaro II village amounted Rpl0.582.379/yr. Meanwhile the optimal allocation from farming system now applied amounted Rp24.793.330/yr, which means increase about Rp 14.210.951/yr or by 134,28 percent from the previous income. Farming system planned to do in in kotadaro II village is a diversified farming system using scenario two with assuming enchancement of demand by 100 percent, that will generate revenues of Rp34.723.050/yr or increase by 228,12 percent from farming pattem income that is now applied.
