Abstract

Background: Low back pain is pain and discomfort below the the costal margin and above the inferior gluteal folds, with or without referred leg pain. Low back pain can cause discomfort during at work, so it can influence activity while working and work performance. The aims to analyze the incidence of low back pain and its affecting factors amongst ojek luring dan ojek daring drivers in Palembang. Method: This is analytical-observational research with cross-sectional study design. The subject of this research is 50 people ojek luring drivers and 51 people ojek daring drivers in Palembang. The research was conducted in October-November 2017. Data analysis was executed by using Chi-Square test and Mann-Whitney test on SPSS application. Result: The incidence of low back pain in ojek daring drivers amount 56% and in ojek luring drivers amount 37,3%. The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between body mass indeks and low back pain (p=0,002). However, there was no significant association between age and low back pain (p=0,145), smoking habits and low back pain (p=0,804) and duration of work and low back pain (p=0,280). Conclusion: There was a significant association between age and low backpain as well as there was significant association between body mass indeks. There was no significant association between smoking habits and low back pain as well as there was no significant association between duration of work and low back pain.
