Abstract

This study aims to analyze farmers socio-economic factors on adoption of Climate – Smart Agriculture (CSA) technology through social capital in Gelebak Dalam Banyuasin Village. The research approach utilized a survey method with 60 farmers as respondents, selected through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) model based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The study results indicate that the farmers' social capital, encompassing trust, norms, and networks, is categorized as high. The adoption level of CSA technology is also high, despite challenges in implementing certain technologies, such as planting machines. Farmers' socioeconomic factors significantly influence social capital, which, in turn, positively affects the adoption level of CSA technology. This study concludes that social capital plays a key role in driving the adoption of CSA technology. Therefore, it is crucial to enhance farmers' participation and social support. Further support from the government and related institutions in the form of training and technical assistance is essential to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector amid climate change challenges.
