Abstract

Work discipline is one of the factors influencing employee and organizational performance, productivity, and the achievement of organizational goals. The attendance recap of Puskesmas Indralaya for June-August 2024 indicates delays among healthcare workers. This study aims to analyze the work discipline of Puskesmas Indralaya healthcare workers in terms of leadership exemplarity, compensation, monitoring, sanctions, and human relations. A descriptive qualitative method is used, with interviews, observations, and document reviews as the primary data collection techniques. The research informants, selected using purposive sampling, total 8 individuals: the Head of Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and General Affairs at the Ogan Ilir Health Office, the Head of Puskesmas Indralaya as key informants, and 6 healthcare workers at Puskesmas Indralaya as main informants. The results show that the work discipline policy at Puskesmas Indralaya aligns with government regulations (PP, PermenPANRB, and Perbup,) and has been disseminated. However, its implementation needs optimization. Leadership exemplarity has supported work discipline. Both direct and indirect compensation are provided. Monitoring is effective through supervision, guidance, direction, and feedback. Disciplinary sanctions are in accordance with applicable regulations. Then, human relations are good, observed through both informal and formal interactions, recognition, and communication. In conclusion, all aspects studied are good in terms of policy but still require optimization in their implementation. This study recommends optimizing the development of subordinate guidelines, policy dissemination, disciplinary rewards, transportation facilities, quality feedback, monitoring team, tiered mentoring, and regular evaluations.
