Abstract

The purpose of this research were: 1) to analyze the use of factors of production of organic rice on irrigated land in the district of East Ogan Komering Ulu, 2) analyze the factors that influence the decision of rice farmers in the use of organic fertilizer or not use organic fertilizer on irrigated land, 3) Calculating the income of organic rice farmers in irrigated lands. This research was conducted in the village of Triyoso, District Belitang I, Ogan Ogan Ulu Timur, South Sumatra. Selection of the location of this research is done intentionally (purposive). The method used in this research is a survey method. This research was conducted in May 2016. The sampling method used in this research is the method of quota sampling with a total sample of 60 farmers, consisting of 15 farmers who cultivate rice plants using organic fertilizers are rice farmers organic and 30 farmers who cultivate rice plants with organic fertilizer that farmers use inorganic. The results showed that the factors that significantly affect the production of organic rice during the rainy season in the Triyoso village District of Belitang I were total employment and the number of seeds, and the number of seeds of production has a positive value of the regression coefficient, but the total employment has a negative value of the regression coefficient. Production factors such as the land area, amount of fertilizer and pesticides number does not affect significantly. The results showed that the factors that significantly affect the production of organic rice during the dry season in the Triyoso village District of Belitang were land area, total employment and the number of seeds, and all factors of production will have a value of the regression coefficient is positive, except for the total employment. Production factors such as the amount of fertilizer and pesticides number does not affect significantly. Revenue obtained from organic rice farming is done by example farmers in Triyoso village District of Belitang I namely Rp 34,013,293 per hectare in 2015. Revenue is positive which means organic rice farming profitable. Factors that influence the decisions of farmers in the use of organic fertilizer or not to use organic fertilizers significantly in Triyoso village District of Belitang I were land area, the number of dependents, rice production and the cost of fertilizer. Factors that are not of significant were age and education.
