Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan melempar medicine ball terhadap peningkatan hasil pukulan forehand overhead bulu tangkis. Dalam penelitian ini yang menjadi populasi adalah siswa putra kelas 8 SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini adalah 60 orang dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan cara ordinal pairing yaitu membagi dua kelompok, 30 orang kelompok kontrol dan 30 orang kelompok eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes dari masing-masing variabel. Analisis data menggunakan uji t. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simple random sampling dengan sistem ordimal pairing. Hasil penelitian terdapat pengaruh latihan melempar medicine ball ke dinding terhadap peningkatan hasil pukulan forehand overhead bulu tangkis siswa putra kelas 8 SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara yaitu dari hasil uji t dengan thiung (3,93) 5 teavi (1,771). Pada siswa kelompok kontrol tidak diberi perlakuan ternyata tidak ada peningkatan yang signifikan hasil pukulan forehand overhead bulu tangkis. Dengan demikian, hipotesis penelitian yang menyatakan bahwa: “Terdapat Pengaruh latihan melempar medicine ball ke dinding terhadap peningkatan hasil pukulan forehand overhead bulutangkis pada siswa putra kelas 8 SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara” dapat diterima
