Abstract

The South Sumatra Provincial Government plans to build an integrated office in Keramasan District, Palembang with a land area of ± 90 hectares. Based on the master plan, the buildings in this integrated office plan include a multi-purpose building and other supporting facilities such as a mosque, food court, plaza, and sports field. The land condition on the site is swampy or peat land and the big concept used in the design of this integrated office is Green Building. The design problem faced is how to design these buildings on swampy land and how to apply the green building concept in multi-purpose buildings and other supporting facilities. For design on swampy land, it is necessary to select and use foundations that are suitable for swampy land such as pile foundations. In addition, in this design there is a plan to make a retention pond to prevent flooding when the rainy season comes. The application of the green building concept in this design is in the use of openings, especially in multi-purpose buildings and mosques to maximize natural lighting. There is also the use of glass material on several parts of the walls which are equipped with sunshading to reduce heat from sunlight. This design uses flowering shrub vegetation, namely Tabebuya, a bridge connecting the multi-purpose building, food court and mosque, as well as sidewalks to facilitate access between buildings.
