Abstract

The objectives of this research was to know the effects of organic and anorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of red rice (Oryza nivara L.). This research was counducted from April throught Juli 2016. The method that used was randomized complete block design consisted of ten treatments and three replications. The treatments were 75 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P1), 50 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P2), cow manure fertilizer + 25 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P3), cow manure fertilizer + 50 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P4), compost of long beans + 25 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P5), compost of long beans + 50 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P6), compost of oil palm empty fruit bunch + 50% of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P7), compost of oil palm empty fruit bunch + 25% of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P8), compost of mucuna + 25 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer (P9), compost of mucuna + 50 % of Urea, SP-36 and KCl fertilizer ( P10). The results showed that the combination of organic and anorganic fertilizers was better than the organic or anorganic fertilizer alone. The treatment of compost mucuna + 50 % of Urea, SP- 36 and KCl fertilizer gave the best yield of red rice on the maximum number of tillers, the number of profuctive tillers, the number of grain pithy, the weight of harvest dry grain per plot. Those were 22,67, 21,71, 208,33, 128 g and weight of pithy grain per hectar was 2,12 ton .
