Abstract

Background: Endometriosis is a benign gynecological disorder defined as the presence of endometrial gland and stromal tissue outside the normal location associated with the inflammatory process. Endometriosis can be found in almost 10% of women of reproductive age. Confirmation of the diagnosis of endometriosis can be done by anamnesis, physical examination, and supporting examination. Supporting examinations that can be carried out in establishing the diagnosis of endometriosis are complete hematology examinations, urinalysis and urine culture, transvaginal ultrasound, and CA125 serum examination. The CA125 ≥ 30 u/ml test result is a very predictive result for diagnosing endometriosis and predicting the incidence of pelvic adhesions if a higher value is obtained. The platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) is a simple index of systemic inflammatory response (SIR) obtained from hematological examination. Endometriosis plays a role in the increase in SIR, resulting in tumor-like events such as invasion, adhesion, recurrence, and metastasis. There are several classification systems for the severity of endometriosis, one of which is often used is the revised classification system of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). This study aims to analyze the relationship between the combination of PLR and CA 125 with the severity of the rASRM score. Method: Observational analytical research with comparators was carried out at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang with a research period from October 2023 to April 2024. Results: There was a significant association between CA 125, PLR, combination of PLR and CA125 with the severity of rASRM. Conclusion: The combination of PLR and CA 125 can be used as one of the markers to assess the severity of endometriosis
