Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a global health problem caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M. tuberculosis), and Indonesia is no exception. The importance of providing TPT is because this disease can be transmitted through household contact. Factors that have been shown to influence the provision of TPT in other places include the level of education and knowledge of parents, family economic status, distance from residence to health facilities, and health workers' knowledge and belief in the benefits of TPT. Considering the number of new cases and the absence of data on the proportion of TPT provision in Palembang. To determine proportion and influencing factor of pediatric Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment administration by household contacts of pulmonary tuberculosis patients. An observational analytical study was conducted from May-Agustus 2024 at the Primary Health Care in Palembang. The inclusion criteria for children and caregiver were children who were in in household contact with patients with bacteriological positive pulmonary TB based on TCM who sought treatment and were registered in Palembang and for Primary Health Care is if it has a Tuberculosis Treatment Programme. Study was analysed with SPSS Version 27. There was a significant association between caregiver age ≤ 35 years and Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment (TPT) provision, while caregiver role, economic level, knowledge level, caregiver education, and house-to-health facility distance had no significant effect. Child and health facility factors did not have a significant relationship with TPT provision. Keywords: Tuberculosis, Preventive Treatment, Household Contacts
