Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of self-acceptance on resilience in individuals who experience knee injuries. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a role for self-acceptance on resilience. The population of this study were individuals who had knee injuries at least 6 months after injury aged 15-64 years and were undergoing rehabilitation either independently, physio sport or in the hospital. The participants involved totaled 123 people and 40 people for the try out, which was taken using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instrument used refers to aspects of self-acceptance based on the theory of Morgado, Campana and Tavares (2014) with a reliability value of 0.942, and resilience based on components developed by Wagnild and Young (1990) with a reliability value of 0.938. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results indicated a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) and an R Square value of 0.602, suggesting that self-acceptance plays a significant role in resilience, with an effective contribution of 60.2%. These findings support the research hypothesis and indicate that self-acceptance contributes to increasing resilience in individuals with knee injuries.
