Abstract

This research was conducted at PT PP London Sumatra Tbk Musi Rawas Regency South Sumatra, and analysing was conducted in Chemistry Laboratory, Biology and Soil Fertility Soil Science Department Agriculture Faculty, University of Sriwijaya and PT. OF OIL MAKMUR Laboratory from April 2016 up to June 2016. The objective of this research was to know the difference of age of plant oil palm on some soil chemistry properties. The method used in this research is the case study method. In fourth age of the plant, there is oil palm plant age, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years and 19 years. Comparison of soil chemistry properties in the area of oil palm planting on different ages. Results of soil chemical properties for pH H2O and KCl highest on 5 years of plant age (3.83 to 3.68) and the lowest in 2 years of age (3.72 to 3.33), the highest N-total on 19 years of plant age by (0.24%) and the lowest on 2 years of age (0.09%), to the highest P2O5 on the plants 19 years of age (94.35 mg / 100g) and the lowest on 5 years of age plants (18.76 mg / 100g ), to the highest K2O on the 5 years of plant age (13.38 mg / 100g) and the lowest was 19 years of plant age (10.04 mg / 100g), the highest organic C on 19 years of plant age (3.17%) and the lowest in 2 years of plant age (1.20%), to the highest CEC on the 5 years of plant age (9.84 cmol / kg) and the lowest on the 2 years (7.70 cmol / kg), Al-highest dd 2 years of age (3.55%) and the lowest at age 5 years (1.72%) it can be concluded that the soil chemistry properties be affected the life of oil palm trees that K2O and Al-dd has a negative correlation and chemistry properties of the soil be affected by the age of oil palm trees, that is N-total, C-organic, P2O5, pH, and CEC which is have a positive correlation.
