Abstract

ABSTRACT Ogan Ilir Regency is passed by large vehicles such as trucks, these vehicles have environmental impacts such as causing air pollution. Lichen acts as a bioindicator of air quality, lichen can live in extreme environments, but lichen is also very sensitive to pollution that occurs. Lichen is sensitive to heavy metals such as Pb, therefore lichen can be a bioindicator of air quality. This study was conducted from December to March 2024 in the laboratory of plant physiology and development, the research method used the Purposive random sampling method, the method was carried out by determining the sampling point intentionally or sampling determined with certain considerations, the results of the study showed that lichen that lives in locations with high traffic density has a grayish green thallus caused by a decrease in chlorophyll levels in lichen caused by high Pb content in lichen while lichen that lives in locations with low traffic density has lichen with a bright green thallus indicating low pollution in the area. Keywords: Dirinaria picta, Lichen, Pb content, chlorophyll and Traffic Density ABSTRAK Kabupaten Ogan Ilir dilewati oleh kendaraan-kendaraan besar seperti truk, kendaraan tersebut menimbulkan dampak lingkungan seperti menimbulkan polusi udara. Lichen berperan sebagai bioindikator kualitas udara, lichen dapat hidup pada lingkungan yang ekstrim, akan tetapi lichen juga sangat peka terhadap polusi yang terjadi. Lichen sensitif pada logam berat seperti Pb, maka dari itulah lichen dapat menjadi bioindikator dari kualitas udara. Penelitian ini di lakukan pada bulan desember sampai Maret 2024 di Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Perkembangan Tumbuhan. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode purposive random sampling, metode dilakukan dengan menentukan titik pengambilan sampel dengan sengaja atau pengambilan sampel yang ditentukan dengan pertimbangan tertentu, hasil penelitian menunjukan lichen yang hidup dilokasi dengan tingkat kepadatan lalu lintas yang tinggi mempunyai thallus yang berwarna hijau ke abu-abuan yang disebabkan oleh penurunan kadar klorofil dalam lichen yang diakibatkan oleh tingginya kandungan Pb dalam lichen sedangkan lichen yang hidup di lokasi dengan tingkat kepadatan lalu lintas yang rendah mempunyai lichen dengan thallus yang berwarna hijau cerah yang menandakan rendahnya polusi di daerah tersebut.
