Abstract

The purpose of the research is to develop a valid and practical Case Method-based CAM tutorial video in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program of FKIP Unsri. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using a 4D development model consisting of the stages of Definition, Design, Development, and Dissemination. The subject in this study is a student of the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program FKIP Unsri who took the Advanced CAD/CAM course, while the object of this research is a Case Method-based CAM tutorial video media developed using the Autodesk Inventor CAM Ultimate application. This video tutorial is designed to improve students' understanding of CAM learning and integrate the Case Method approach to deepen students' conceptual understanding of the material. The results of the study show that the video tutorials developed have gone through the validation stage and practicality tests. Validation by subject matter experts obtained an average assessment of 87%, which is included in the very valid category, while validation by media experts showed an average assessment of 89%, also included in the very valid category. In addition, the results of one-to-one, small group, and large group trials show that the video tutorials are in the category of being very practical, so they can be used to support the CAM learning process for students.
