Abstract
The purposes of this research were to : 1) understand difference of income of palm oil farmers before and after palm oil price fall in Berkah Village X Unit, Sungai Bahar Sub-District of Muaro Jambi Regency, 2) understand how the contribution of oil palm farm income to the total household income in that village, 3) analyze the welfare of palm oil farmers in that village. This research was conducted in Berkah village X Unit, Sungai Bahar Sub-District of Muaro Jambi Regency. Location research intentionally (purpose). Field data collection was conducted in 2013 and 2015. The mothod used in this research is a survey method. The sampling method used is simple random sampling. The data are collected in the form of primary and secondary data. These result of this research showed that income of palm oil farmers before decreasing of palm oil price is greater than income after decreasing of palm oil price it was decrease as much as 33,64 percent, and statistical test showed the different significant between average of farmes income at before and after decreasing of palm oil price in Berkah village. The contribution revenue derived from oil plam farming at 67,84 percent in 2013 and 60,15 percent in 2015, that means the income from oil palm both those years give a dominant contribution towards total income of household farmers. Based on the criteria of the standard fulfillment needs worth living, the total level income of farmers was able to fulfill ne the value of decent need standard, that is Rp. 2,430,719.91 per month in 2013 and Rp. 2,397,476.00 per month in 2015 and classified as welfare family. As for suggestions for research that is preferably farmers further improve how the maintenance or replanting because the plant was 22-23 years, conducting business activities other than farming oil palm to increase family income, and the Government should provide assistance in the form of the provision of the means of production through subsidy saprodi.
