Abstract

Red chili farming is one of the business activities engaged in the horticultural subsector. Red chili plants have a fairly high economic value, so that the use of production inputs such as land area, labor, fertilizers and pesticides that are good and as needed will provide benefits for farming actors. The objectives of this study were: 1) To analyze the factors affecting the production of red chili farming in Arisan Jaya, 2) To analyze the efficiency of the use of production factors in red chili farming in Arisan Jaya and 3) To calculate farmers' income on red chili farming in Arisan Jaya. The results based on regression analysis, it shows that manure and pesticides have a positive and significant effect on red chili production on the contrary, the use of seeds and Urea fertilizer has a negative effect on production, which means that excessive use can reduce productivity, while NPK fertilizer and labor have a positive but statistically insignificant effect on production and land area input has no significant effect on production, because the increase in land area without being accompanied by the use of appropriate inputs does not necessarily mean that the production results have good quality and quantity. The results of the calculation efficiency of the use of production factors show that the use of land area, manure, NPK fertilizer, pesticides and labor is still not yet efficient, so their use needs to be increased to increase production yields. Conversely, the use of seeds and Urea fertilizer is inefficient because its use is excessive and needs to be reduced for optimal production results. The average production of red chili by cultivated land area is 1.775,893 kilograms with a selling price of around Rp7.000.- by kg, based on the results of the revenue obtained by farmers is Rp12.431.251.- and the average net income obtained by red chili farmers in Arisan Jaya Village is Rp7.290.960.-.
