Abstract

This research aims to find out how the representation of family values in the movie "Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap". This research uses Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory and family values according to Lamanna & Riedmann. The research method used a descriptive qualitative method with a semiotic approach. This study found family values in Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap Movie, namely togetherness described in every family to maintain harmony in the household, loyalty described by supporting and protecting each other in various situations faced together, stability described by being able to maintain a close relationship and provide mutual support in various aspects of their lives, trust described by someone can really fulfill our expectations is what makes us believe in their existence, paternalistic described by the value that upholds the existence of a respected figure or figure in the family.
