Abstract
Kasgot fertilizer is the digestive residue produced by Black Soldier Fly larvae (Hermetia illucens), widely recognized as a solid organic fertilizer rich in essential nutrients for plants. This study aimed to examine the effect of Kasgot fertilizer on the growth of Pakchong grass. Conducted from November 2023 to February 2024 in Timbingan, Indralaya Utara, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, the research used an experimental method based on Sathees and Santhiralingam's approach. Observed variables included Pakchong grass height (cm), leaf sheath length (cm), number of tillers, and growth rate. The results of the T-test analysis in the study of Pakchong Grass Height showed that the Kasgot Fertilizer treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the height of Pakchong Grass. The T-test analysis for Leaf Sheath Length indicated that the Kasgot Fertilizer treatment also had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the leaf sheath length. For the Number of Tillers, the T-test analysis revealed that the Kasgot Fertilizer treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the number of Pakchong Grass tillers. The analysis of the growth rate of Pakchong Grass indicated that the application of Kasgot Fertilizer was better than no fertilizer. Overall, the use of Kasgot Fertilizer can increase the growth rate, plant height, leaf sheath length, and number of tillers of Pakchong Grass compared to the control treatment.
