Abstract

This study aims to investigate the development of productivity in relation to the value added of the apparel industry in Indonesia, using both long-term and short-term regression methods through the Error Correction Model (ECM). The secondary data used in this research were obtained from reports, publications, and statistics provided by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), covering the annual period from 2000 to 2021. The findings reveal that the productivity of the apparel industry has a positive and significant effect on the value added of the apparel industry in Indonesia. Limited access and the ability of communities and business actors to adapt to technological advancements and digitalization are key factors influencing the impact of productivity on value added in the apparel sector. Moreover, the government needs to anticipate and mitigate natural disasters and other phenomena that restrict economic activity to reduce their impact on production decline in the apparel industry.
