Abstract
This study aims to test the performance of snail crusher based on the rotation speed of the blade and the size of the snail. This research was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025 at KUBA Maju Bersama Warehouse, Sako Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra and at the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, in Indralaya. The method used in this research is Factorial Randomised Group Design (RAKF) with two research factors, namely blade rotation speed (A) and snail size (B) with three treatment levels and repeated three times. The blade rotation speed significantly affects the work capacity of the tool and fuel consumption, while the snail size treatment significantly affects the work capacity of the tool, grinding efficiency, and fuel consumption. The interaction of blade rotation speed and snail size treatment can significantly affect the work capacity of the tool. The best treatment for the working capacity of the tool is that the treatment combination A3B3 with a blade rotation speed of 500 rpm and a small snail size that can crush snail as much as 115.20 kg/hour. The A3B3 treatment combination is very efficient in milling at 93.33% and is quite efficient in fuel consumption at 5.00 litres/hour. The highest decrease in rpm is found in the treatment combination A3B1 which is 38 rpm.
