Abstract
Amelita, Diana “Textile Musseum design of Province Sumatera Selatan in Palembang” Jurusan Teknik Arsitektur Universitas Sriwijaya Kampus Indralaya, Jalan Palembang-Prabumulih Km 32 Indralaya-Ogan Ilir emmytop@ymail.com Textile Musseum design of Southern Sumatera Province in Palembang accommodate activities such as exhibitions; management activities; workshops; seminars and discussions collection; fashion activities; and the support activity. This musseum has main rooms to facilitate these activities which are exhibition space, maintenance and management collections, workshop and fashion space such as room of weaving workshop, room of batik workshop, room of jumputan workshop and fashion show space with space for catwalk. The method of the museum design implemented the four design principles, namely Educational, Recreational, Relational, and Conservatives. Recreational applied on the colour of the building which mainly featuring bright colors and Relational Principles displayed through tumpal patterns and floral clove on the facade in the form of building’s articulation and building’s ornamentationg. The addition of open space in the middle of the building applied to show a refreshing element in the building. The region consists of six buildings type such as wusseum building, seminars and fashion show building, workshop building, mosque, WC building and service building. Workshop building divided into three buildings based on the type of workshop activity such as Batik Workshop, Jumputan Workshop and Weaving Workshop.
