Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Globally, heart valve dysfunction is a leading cause of cardiovascular illness and death. In developed nations, approximately 2.5 percent of people have heart valve disease. Mitral valve stenosis is the most prevalent heart valve condition in Indonesia. If left untreated, significant mitral valve regurgitation, a valvular heart condition, has a dismal prognosis. AOX time has been found to be independently linked to a worse early survival rate following heart surgery. To stop blood from entering the heart chamber, the ascending aorta is subjected to the cross-clamp operation. Methods: Seventy-four medical records of patients having their mitral valves replaced were examined. The individuals' death rate, length of ICU hospitalization, and ventilator use duration were evaluated. The association between the duration of ventilator usage and mortality, as well as the use of CPB Time and AOX Time, was ascertained using data analysis. Results: Cross Clamp (AOX) time more than 90 minutes was 36 people (54.4%). The distribution of the most Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) time research subjects lasted more than 90 minutes, namely 49 research subjects (62%). Chi-Square analysis showed a significant relationship between the duration of Cross Clamp (AOX) time and the duration of ventilator use. In the chi-square analysis with mortality outcomes, there was no significant relationship. Chi-square analysis showed a significant relationship between CPB and the duration of ventilator use. The Chi-square test showed no significant relationship between CPB use and mortality events. Conclusion: CPB and AOX times are statistically significantly correlated with the length of ventilator usage, making them reliable indicators of the length of ventilator use in patients undergoing mitral valve replacement.
