Abstract
The objectives of this research were to select soybean varieties adapted to nutrient-deficient condition and to compare the root distribution of soybean. This research was conducted from April to May 2016 in the greenhouse Department of Agronomy, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This research used sand as media in root box plastic. Nutrient treatment being used Hoagland solution. This reseach used split plot designs which were repeated three times. The main plot was nutrient which was concentrated 100% and 25%, and the sub plot was soybean varieties, Slamet, Gema, Dering, Sinabung, Wilis, Anjasmoro, Rajabasa, Argomulyo, Grobogan, and Panderman. The result showed that tolerant varieties in the nutrient-deficient condition were Sinabung, Slamet, Wilis, Anjasmoro, and Grobogan varieties. The root of soybean with 25% nutrient treatment had short root and few root hair.
