Abstract

Danau Lamo Village, located in Maro Sebo Subdistrict, Muaro Jambi Regency, is one of the regions with significant potential for honey beekeeping. However, one of the main challenges in developing honey farming in this region is the dynamic nature of marketing channels, which can significantly impact farmers' profits. This study aims to This study aims to: (1) identify and describe the marketing channel patterns for honey, (2) analyze the level of marketing efficiency and farmer’s share received by honey producers, and (3) evaluate the marketing efficiency of each distribution channel. The research was conducted from December 2024 to April 2025 using a survey method in Danau Lamo Village. Respondents were selected through snowball sampling and purposive sampling, with a total of 12 honey bee farmers and 2 MSME actors. Data were analyzed descriptively using tabulation and mathematical calculations via Microsoft Excel. The results showed that there are three honey marketing channels: Channel I (producer–consumer), Channel II (producer–collector consumer), and Channel III (producer–MSME–consumer). Channel I had a marketing margin of Rp5,000 with a farmer’s share of 88%, Channel II had Rp15,000 with 63%, and Channel III consisted of MSME 1 with Rp120,000 (20%) and MSME 2 with Rp55,000 (35%). The marketing efficiency values were 12% for Channel I, 13,33% for Channel II, and 22,61% for MSMEs 1 and 22,59% for MSMEs 2 in Channel III. All three channels are categorized as efficient based on their calculated marketing efficiency.
