Abstract

Background: There is a relationship between the condition of the oral cavity and systemic conditions, if there is a disorder in the body system, it will also have a bad impact on the oral cavity, and vice versa. The knowledge of medical students regarding these relationships is important to help in diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge about the relationship between oral cavity conditions and systemic conditions in Sriwijaya University medical students class of 2023. Methods: Descriptive research of a cross sectional study involving Sriwijaya University medical students class of 2023. The research instrument was in the form of a google form questionnaire adapted from previous research which contained 20 closed-ended questions on the Guttman scale. Results: Data was obtained from 90% of respondents (218 people) with pre test results of 97.7% of respondents were very knowledgeable and 2.3% were knowledgeable, while in the post test 98.6% were very knowledgeable and 1.4% were knowledgeable. Conclusion: Sriwijaya University medicine students class of 2023 already understand the relationship between oral cavity conditions and systemic conditions.
