Abstract
Tidal land is land that is in a zone that is still influenced by the ebb and flow of sea water, so what must be paid attention to is the fluctuation of ground water levels in tidal swamp land. This research aims to study the dynamics of the water level and physical properties of the soil in sugar cane plants (Saccharum officinarum L.) in the tidal fields of PT Pratama Nusantara Sakti using tools in the form of piscal boards which function to measure the water level of channels and well pipes which function to measure height. ground water level. This research was conducted in the tidal fields of PT Pratama Nusantara Sakti, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency with an interval of March 2024. The method used in this research is survey and direct observation in the field in a 3 lane 2 plot 1 block covering an area of 10 ha. Measurements were made of the channel water level and ground water level and in the laboratory the soil texture, KA, BD, RPT, soil pH were checked. The results of research in the laboratory show ten similar textures, namely sandy clay. The highest KA is located at S4 60.84%, the lowest is at S1 41.53%. The highest BD was in S1 with a BD value of 0.31 g/cm3, the lowest in S4 was 0.24 g/cm3 and the highest RPT was in S4 90.7%, the lowest was in S1 88.1%. The highest actual pH value was at S5 4.44, the lowest actual was at S8 4.01, the highest potential pH value was at S4 3.89, the lowest potential was at S1 3.36. The conclusion obtained in this research is that the dynamics of the ground water level and the dynamics of the water level of the channels at the research location are quite good. This can be seen in the graph that has been presented that water availability can still be said to be stable and not too far from the 40 cm threshold. Apart from that, management of the water management network at the tertiary channel level is very much needed because it affects the water needs of sugar cane crops in typology A tidal fields.
