Abstract

Oral health Indonesian people still be things that must have serious attention from the health service. Dental caries is one of the most common oral health problems in Indonesia. Caries in school-age children increases every year based on DMF-T index of WHO. One of the factors that affects the dental caries are knowledge of oral health. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between oral health knowledge with DMF-T index in 12 years old children. This study was a observasional analytics with Cross sectional design and used purposive sampling technique. The samples were 36 children aged 12 years old in SDN 48 Palembang. Data analysis used in this study was Chi-Square test. The results of this study showed that there is 7 children who have high level of oral health knowledge including DMF-T index with very low category, while there is 8 children who have low level of oral health knowledge including DMF-T index with very high category. In the Chi-Square test results, there was P value 0,016 which mean p<0,05. It showed that there is a significant relationship between oral health knowledge with DMF-T index in 12 years old children.
