Abstract
The Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) Policy aims to ensure equality in facilities for inpatient services. Thus far, there has been no research examining the perceptions of inpatients at RSUP Dr. Rivai Abdullah following the implementation of the KRIS policy. This study employed a qualitative methodology with a case study approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document review. Informants were selected purposively, comprising 8 key informants and 4 expert informants. Data were analyzed thematically and validated through source and method triangulation. The research findings indicate that most inpatients hold a positive perception of the KRIS policy. However, negative perceptions have also emerged among some patients due to the high contribution costs and suboptimal room occupancy levels. Patients exhibit limited knowledge of the KRIS policy, primarily due to inadequate information dissemination. Patients generally display a positive attitude toward the facilities and quality of KRIS inpatient rooms. There is no specific motivation among patients regarding the KRIS policy. While many patients show substantial interest, the willingness of some patients to reuse KRIS inpatient rooms is relatively low. A significant number of patients report positive experiences, though some have expressed discomfort concerning privacy and room tranquility. Overall, patients perceive the facilities as meeting expectations, except for the contribution costs, which are still considered less than ideal. Providing specific KRIS policy information by general and customer service staff as patients register for inpatient services can be an effort to minimize the potential for negative perceptions related to the KRIS policy.
