Abstract

Flood is one of the natural dsasters that often occurs in North Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatera Province, which is influenced by high rainfall and the geographical conditations of the area. Based on the axisting problems, this study aims to identif and map the level of flood vulnerability in the area. This study uses an overlay method based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The five main parameters used in the analysis are slope, rainfall, soil type, land use, and river buffer. Data were analyzed using ArcGIS 19.8 with scoring and weighting techniques. The mapping results show that the North Musi Rawas Regency area is divided info three flood-prone zones, a low zone convering 163,644.99 hectares (28.55%), a medium zone of 261,370.03 hectares (45.61%), and a high zone 148,081.32 hectares (25.84%). The high zone is enerally located in flat areas, near rivers, and has high rainfall. Validation with 2024 flood data shows the suitability between the prone zone and the actual flood location, so that the resulting map is considered valid as a basis for flood disaster mitigation.
