Abstract

Resource needs in construction industry increase every year. Needs that increase hard to fullfilled cause by lacks of resource. Lack of resource result a new concept, sustainable construction, construction that in every phase pay attention to environment, social, and economy issues. Implementation of sustainable construction in Indonesia, especially in Palembang has not seen yet. This research must be done in order to know barriers to implementing sustainable construction concept in Palembang. Construction company and construction project in Palembang becomes the population and sample. There is 16 variables covers economic, regulation, management, technic, social-culture, and knowledge barriers that used as research instrument. Number of sample in this research is 32 respondents, that work on the construction company or project. Questionnaries was used in this research. Analysis technic that used in this research is mean analysis and ranking on the mean score each variables. Analysis done using SPSS version 23. The result of this research shows that technic barrier “Lack of trained or skilled labour to implementing sustainable concept.”
