Abstract

The National Student Theater Festival showcases performances to express the creativity and talents of non-art college students. The eighth Festamasio, held in 2017 in Makassar, carried the theme "Physics In Theatre," incorporating concepts and content related to physics. This research was conducted to identify the physics concepts presented in the Festamasio VIII performances that can be contributed as enrichment material in high school physics education. The study employed a qualitative methode content analysis approach, utilizing content analysis and semiotic analysis of 15 videos from the Festamasio VIII performances. The results indicate that the Festamasio VIII performance, "Physics In Theatre," can implicitly and explicitly identify various physics concepts, such as heliocentric theory and Newton's gravity, electromagnetic waves in GPS technology, time relativity (time dilation), optics, sound waves, light waves, pressure, force, circular motion, angular momentum, potential energy, kinetic energy, heat, equilibrium of rigid bodies, weight, and tension in strings. These findings can serve as a source of enrichment material for high school physics education.
