Abstract

Increased industrial globalization activities are two blades in the development of child labor in the world Along with the development of the industrial globalization era, high demand for labor will lead to an expansion of opportunities for children to earn income which will ultimately increase the number of child workers. This increase is caused by pull factors (rationality/employer) and the strongest driving factor is household income or poverty. In this study using the observation method of distributing questionnaires to 100 children aged 10-19 years and the analytical technique using logistic regression. From the results of the logistic regression it was found that child labor income, number of dependents, parents' education had a significant relationship to the child's decision to work with a negative coefficient value while for the variable nature of work, employment status and type of work owned by parents had a significant influence on the child's decision to work with a positive coefficient value, meaning that this variable can increase the number of child workers in a short time on the grounds that helping the family economy is an important and major factor. The age variable has no significant relationship to the child's decision to work. The R Square Nagelkerker value is 0.706 or 70.6%, the remaining 29.4%.
