Abstract
This study focuses on the determinants of public sector health expenditure in ASEAN countries, namely the development index. human and economic growth with the time period from 2000-2020. The analysis used to analyze the influence of the Human Development Index on Public Health Expenditures in ASEAN countries was carried out quantitatively. The analytical tool used is Panel Data Regression with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The research findings show that the level of the human development index and the elderly population has a positive effect on public health spending and the GDP growth rate has a negative effect on public health spending. This study uncovers two main issues of human capital and economic growth in which human capital includes the human development index and the elderly population has proven to be the main determinant of increasing health spending in the ASEAN Region.
