Abstract

This thesis explores flood-prone area mapping in the Bendung Sub-Watershed (Sub DAS) located in Palembang City, Indonesia. The area is classified as a lowland zone with an inadequate drainage system, making it highly vulnerable to flooding during the rainy season. The study utilizes the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods to identify and map regions with high flood risk. Key parameters analyzed include rainfall intensity, land use, slope gradient, elevation, and soil lithology. Additional field observations were conducted using Falling Head Test for soil infiltration and groundwater level monitoring. The results provide a flood vulnerability zoning map of the Bendung Sub-Watershed, which can be used as a reference for flood mitigation planning by government agencies and stakeholders. The study also recommends infrastructure improvements such as retention ponds and better land use management to reduce flood risk.
