Abstract
Tuberculosis is still a global health problem, including in Indonesia which has the second highest cases after India. One of the efforts to control tuberculosis is through the implementation of contact investigation of positive tuberculosis patients to find new cases early. However, the achievement of contact investigation activities at the Multiwahana Health Center is still far from the national target. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of contact investigation activities for positive patients with Lung at the Multiwahana Health Center, by analyzing the input, process, output components, and implementation barriers. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants consisted of the head of the puskesmas, the person in charge of the program, laboratory staff, doctors, and patients. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The implementation of contact investigation has not been optimal. In terms of input, there is a shortage of human resources, inactive community health volunteers, and delays in fund disbursement. The process component revealed that CI is conducted only once a month and fails to meet the minimum target number of contacts. Regarding output, the CI coverage is only 6% of the city's 90% target, and recording/reporting systems are not yet fully optimized. From the patient perspective, there is limited understanding of the importance of CI. The implementation of contact investigation at Multiwahana Health Center does not yet meet national technical guidelines. Strengthening human resources, increasing the frequency of activities, reactivating community health volunteers, and enhancing intersectoral collaboration are necessary to improve program performance.
