Abstract

The Ministry of BUMN together with state-owned companies established Rumah BUMN as a common home to gather, learn and foster MSME players to become quality Indonesian MSMEs. Rumah BUMN Sumsel under the auspices of CSR PT Pusri Palembang is committed to assisting MSME partners through three main programs namely competency improvement, marketing access and access to capital. This study identifies the characteristics of MSME partners of Rumah BUMN Sumsel, evaluates the coaching program that has been carried out by Rumah BUMN South Sumatra on the sustainability of agribusiness and non-agribusiness MSME businesses through SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square) correlation analysis and identifies strategies that can be taken by MSME owners in ensuring their business sustainability. The indicators used to measure business continuity variables are MSME income increase, business growth, product quality, competitiveness and operational efficiency. The results of the analysis with the SmartPLS3 program show that for agribusiness sector MSMEs, the variables that have a significant effect on business continuity are access to marketing with a p-value of 0.013 and access to capital with a p-value of 0.000. Meanwhile, for non-agribusiness sector MSMEs, the variables that have a significant effect on business continuity are access to marketing and access to capital, which both have a p-value of 0.000. The p-value of the competency improvement variable shows an insignificant value in both MSME sectors. This is because business sustainability is highly dependent on the availability of capital and the breadth of market reach. Although competence increases, if it is not followed by the availability of sufficient capital and a market that is able to absorb the product, then business continuity can be threatened. Based on the results of the research, the strategies that can be carried out by agribusiness MSME owners to strengthen their business continuity are by utilizing access to capital provided by the government specifically for MSMEs, establishing Business to Business (B2B) cooperation with large companies to expand the market and receive support in business development. Meanwhile, the strategy for non-agribusiness MSMEs is to optimize digital marketing, namely utilizing advances in digital technology for more efficient promotion and marketing.
