Abstract
Tanjung Serang Village, located on the banks of the Komering River, Kayuagung District, experiences regular flooding every year with a height reaching one meter and the lack of public knowledge about flood disaster management according to the correct procedures has an impact on the health, economy, and social aspects of the community. This study aims to analyze the level of community preparedness in dealing with flood disasters in riverbank organizations in Tanjung Serang Village, Kayuagung District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This quantitative descriptive study uses a survey method with a sampling technique using the Slovin formula, on 100 respondents. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity. The results showed that the level of community preparedness varied in several parameters. In terms of knowledge, 54 respondents had high knowledge, while 46 respondents had low knowledge, obtaining a percentage of 91% with a very prepared category. In terms of attitude parameters, 58 people had good attitudes, while 42 respondents had bad attitudes, obtaining a percentage of 87.6% with a very prepared category. In the Emergency Response Plan, 63 respondents have a plan according to the standard, while 37 do not meet the standard, obtaining a percentage of 80% with a very prepared category. In the Disaster Warning System, 53 respondents have a Disaster Warning System, while 47 respondents do not have a Disaster Warning System, obtaining a percentage of 87% with a very prepared category. Finally, Resource Mobilization shows that 64 communities have adequate resources, while 36 communities are declared inadequate. The Resource Mobility parameter obtained a percentage of 88% with a very prepared category. It can be concluded that although most communities are quite prepared to face flood disasters, communities need to increase awareness, knowledge, and community capacity through education, training, and strengthening warning systems and resources in order to effectively reduce the risk and impact of flood disasters.
